About Paula:

Paula Machado is Puerto Rican/Cuban award-winning bilingual journalist and now boss woman, owner and founder of Fire Ant Communications.

Machado, former Regional Director for the National Association of Hispanic Journalists, recently left her role as reporter for Spectrum News in Florida to pursue new opportunities as a Communications and Marketing strategist for businesses. Among the companies Machado has collaborated with include Walt Disney World Parks & Resorts, IdeaSport Soccer Academy and many more.

Machado kick-started her career at Univision Orlando, becoming the station's first social media journalist.

Her talent and passion for story telling led her to become an anchor and reporter for the only 24-hour Spanish Language news station in Central Florida, where for more than 4 years she covered the latest news and entertainment stories for the Hispanic community.

During her time in the news industry, she covered the 2016 Presidential elections, the Pulse Nightclub massacre, the devastation of Hurricane Irma in Florida and the massive exodus of Puerto Rican families moving to Florida after Hurricane Maria.

Her journalism efforts received award-recognition from the National Association of Hispanic Journalists, Society of Professional Journalists and the Radio Television Digital News Association.

Previously, Machado drew from her news background to coordinate and manage global media coverage efforts for Walt Disney World.

Paula is a proud Knight and graduate of the University of Central Florida.
